Music at Kohl Mansion

One of the hidden gems of Burlingame has got to be Music at Kohl Mansion. Having grown in Burlingame, like many Burlingamers, I was well aware of the Mercy High School campus and the beautiful Kohl Mansion. Interestingly though, I had never set foot on the campus until about a year ago, when the Music at Kohl Mansion program was brought to my attention. I had the pleasure of meeting the delightful Patricia Kristof Moy, the Executive Director of the Music at Kohl program. Music at Kohl is the longest running chamber music series of the peninsula. As she gave me a tour of the pristinely manicured grounds and the stately room where the concerts and post concert tea with the musicians, I knew this was the perfect setting to produce a video in support of her program. I hope this video will serve as an introduction to those who may not yet be familiar with all of the wonderful work Patricia and her team are doing to foster the love and enjoyment of  high quality of music to children and adults in the Burlingame and greater community.

This video was filmed in one evening in December 2011 for their holiday program which featured four amazing musicians from the San Francisco Symphony. We  rented an incredible lens in order to capture the fine details of the performers in a low light setting, and I think this resulted in a beautifully cinematic effect. Special thanks to Richard Links of Links Sound for providing us with the master audio track of the evening. I’ve also had this video closed captioned for those who are hard of hearing (just click the CC button in the bottom right of the player). I hope you enjoy it!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the video, so please feel free to drop me a line! If you have suggestions for future videos, please let me know too.
