My Monet

The vision for My Monet was hatched in March 2009 by Raziel Ungar, a Burlingame native and Realtor in the Burlingame community. Realizing that children’s art had never before been featured at Burlingame’s annual flagship community event, Art in the Park, Raziel teamed up with two Burlingame art teachers to showcase the exceptional artistic talent within our schools.

The exhibition featured selected works from over fifty children in Burlingame elementary schools. My Monet’s aim is to promote art and creativity within the Burlingame community for our children, and to draw attention to the need for supporting the arts within the Burlingame public school system through the Burlingame Community for Education Foundation and the local PTAs. Each art piece was created during this current school year under the direction of the students art teacher. Students used a wide variety of media for their art pieces.

The next My Monet exhibition will be the weekend of June 12 and 13, 2010, at Washington Park in downtown Burlingame. If you interested in volunteering, please contact Raziel at 650.720.5483 or email raziel[at]

Special thanks as well to Burlingame art teachers JoAnn Johnson and Linda Hoeck for their inspiration, dedication, and assistance with organizing My Monet. All the beautiful images on display are graciously custom matted by Janet and Carl Martin, owners of The Studio Shop. The Studio Shop is located in downtown Burlingame. Thank you to Janice Prey Wolfe for creating our distinctive logo.
